*Please contact me for schedule requests* No experience necessary. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Siobhan knows how to motivate students to achieve their musical goals. In the classroom, Siobhan encourages students to progress in a positive and understanding learning environment. Little singers is a weekly singing class where young beginners will be guided through beginner exercises and warmups that promote healthy and safe singing. We will have a lot of fun while developing a strong technical foundation! The bulk of the lesson time will be spent on learning songs in the call and answer style. Songs we will learn in class: Walking On Sunshine, On The Good Ship Lollipop, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You, Happy, Baby Beluga, and more! Areas that will be covered in the lessons: 1) warmups 2) technique 3) musical knowledge 4) repertoire 5) performance 6) playing expressively 7) music theory 8) how to practice 9) creativity (improvisation) Students will be expected to practice 5 - 6 days a week in order to progress. I recommend 5 - 10 minutes a day for this age group. Students will be encouraged (not required) to perform for the class at lessons 5, 10, and 14. Parents - I recommend you sit next to your child (off-camera) and assist them during the first few lessons. Students should be prepared to stand up during the singing lessons. This promotes excellent technique and healthy singing habits.
