Class Experience
Students will learn through practice. In this fun, interactive course, we will go through a few basics on the piano with the child following the instructor’s lead. We will learn how and where to sit at the piano, and then we will learn one of the most important things throughout their playing, how to make a nice round hand shape. Then, we will learn how to number our fingers which will be a foundation throughout their time playing piano. After practicing numbering our fingers, we will start to play, and while doing so, your child will get start to get familiar with looking at notes. We will practice reading if notes are going up or down and how that affects the sound, getting higher or lower. Then we will finish trying to play a little tune!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how and where to sit at the piano, how to use and number their hands which will be imperative to their piano learning, and they will start to get familiar looking at notes, which will help prepare them for future lessons and help train their ear to recognize when notes get higher or lower.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I took piano lessons for many years, and throughout school I learned to play different instruments such as the oboe, saxophone, and flute. Music is something I love dearly, and it has played such an important role in my life. I think its such a privilege to teach others to learn and love something that is so important. I have taught many different subjects, but this is by far my favorite. I am so excited to go on this journey with your child and to see them grow as a little musician!
