What's included

1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hours per week
Assessment
Throughout the class, I will have artists share their work with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise.

Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Artists will meet each week to draw and paint a fun and colorful piece. We will use paints, markers, and other materials you probably have at home already like a Q-tip, muffin tin or coffee filters to create vibrant, energetic, and individual creations.

After quick hellos and introductions, we will get right to work. It may be a bit messy, but it's gonna be fun! I will guide students throughout the class and they will be able to see my artwork on my art cam as a reference. One week we will be diffusing colors on coffee filters to produce a cool design underneath; another week we will set up a quick printing-making studio and create monoprint designs; and, we will also draw and paint different scenes and objects!

Please note: Some projects may require the purchase of something you may not have on hand, but usually can easily get. Upon enrollment, there is a doc available with an outline of the lessons and supplies. Also, I send out a weekly message reiterating the supplies and any alterations if needed (usually Sunday). I strongly urge you to sign up for classroom alerts/emails to find out any of the latest updates to your classes (posted in the classroom). Thank you!

Topics (may be subject to change):

Learning Goals

My goal is for artists to create beautiful and brilliant compositions using different media and fun techniques; to inspire them to try more on their own; and, for them to return to the studio for something new the following week!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My personal style is more abstract, graphic, and even impressionistic and this is reflected in my own painting style over the years. I enjoy the spontaneity of these creative painting projects and young, new artists have the best ideas to share- we learn from each other!
