The lessons are sourced in virtues that are essential elements in development of one's character and leadership skills for establishing healthy and successful social interactions and relationships. Empowering girls in all aspects of their identity is essential in ensuring their future success and their presence in social, technical, scientific, and economical areas of society and in their future careers.. Day 1 We will start by a brief mindfulness practice to help us relax and destress. Our discussion will include: What is the leadership? Why is it important to practice it? How to practice it? Story of a great female role model and her achievements Day 2 The benefits of being a leader Qualities and skills required for leadership How to develop and practice leadership skills Story of a great female role model and her achievements Learners will work on their presentation outline. Day 3 Professions requiring leadership skills Clubs or organizations that help develop leadership skills How is leadership related to success? Story of another great female role model and her achievements What are the challenges of leadership? Learners will share draft of their presentation. Day 4 Presentation and speaking skills, body language and how to dress for success, powerful words and initiatives leaders use to succeed. Inspirational story of another female leader and her accomplishments. Learners will share the final draft of their presentation Day 5 Summary of leadership for Girls Inspirational story of another female leader and her accomplishments. Learning Goals
This class will guide students through discussions, examples, and related activities how to practice leadership in daily life in interactions with their family, friends, classmates, and teachers. Discussions include importance of setting high goals and working toward goals with self-discipline, excellence, enthusiasm, and confidence; approaching problems, challenges, difficult tasks and situations with poise and a positive and winning attitude; trusting one's intuition and standing up for one's rights and the rights of others; building up and helping others alongside of one's path to success.
