This is a on-going, concise version of my 8-week class, "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids!" by Sean Covey Learn Life Skills with Aunt Sam. Each week in this class, we will read a short, silly, story from "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids!" book. Each Story explains the Habit of the Week. We will discuss weekly object lessons, questions, and optional worksheets about the Habit of the Week. Depending on the class, students may engage in break-out rooms where the students can apply the Habit to solve challenges. We also role-play the Habit, where basic reading is involved (if the learner is comfortable.) There will be optional opportunities to set goals focusing on the Habit of the Week. Worksheets will be added to the class each Monday morning (Pacific time) for the week's Habit. Week 1-Be Proactive 10/3 • Learn about the importance of being self-motivated, not relying on others to direct us to be productive. • I can choose to be motivated! Week 2-Begin with the End in Mind 10/10 • Learn about the importance of planning ahead to accomplish goals with Goob and Jumper • I can plan ahead and "climb mountains!" Week 3- Put First Things First Week of 10/17 • Learn about the importance of prioritizing with Pokey • I can do what I need to do, so I can do what I want to do! Week 4- Think Win-Win Week of 10/24 • Learn the importance of positive thinking and compromise • I can choose to be positive! Week 5- Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood Week of 11/7 • Learn the importance of being present, while listening to understand others • I can really listen and learn! Week 6- Synergize Week of 11/14 • Learn the importance of working together, using each others' strengths • I can learn that Together is Better! Week 7 - Sharpen the Saw Week of 11/21 • Learn the importance of balance in life • I have time to enjoy peaceful moments! New classes will be added after the 7th Week and we'll start the Habits again, beginning with the 1st Week, Proactive. As children apply even one of these Habits, there is a difference in the child's attitude and a determination to better the child's own life and the lives of those around them. YES, let's choose to make a difference, let's choose to be HAPPY.
