Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to create images with interesting subjects, effective lighting, and good composition. They will be able to discuss photographs and film photography. They will create visual variety in a set of images. They will be able to make basic editing adjustments and choose good images to convert to black and white.
Students will have optional photography assignments each week so that they can practice and have some images to share at the beginning of the next class but homework is not required. 
Camera or phone/tablet with a camera Objects and/or people around the house to photograph Week 2: Disposable or other film camera or Instafilm camera or regular phone or camera, paper, and tape or post-its Weeks 4-5: Any simple editing software, including the built-in editor on phones and tablets
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will have the opportunity to share their images with the teacher and the class during the class so they can try out skills immediately. 
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
