Welcome! I initially created this reading-games group to provide more opportunities for my current and future students to practice the work we are doing together. Anyone who needs additional practice with these skills is welcome! L E S S O N C O M P O N E N T S Each class will have a similar structure: ⭐️ Welcome/ Icebreaker 👩🏫 Quick Review of Skills 📚 Reading Game 📝 Spelling Learners can join to reinforce previously learned skills. However, this class does follow a cycle of skills that aligns with my Reading Reboot course. U P C O M I N G L E S S O N S Week of 1/9: Short a / Short i Week of 1/16: Short o / Short u Week of 1/23: Short Vowel Review Week of 1/30: FLOSS Rule Games we play may be chosen by learners. Some examples of games we might play include: • Mad Libs • Game Show • Bingo • Connect 4 • Tic-Tac-Toe • Scattergories • Kahoot • Roll and Read Learners can also suggest other games that they enjoy and I will do my best to accommodate. ⭐️ Feel free to reach out to let me know if you're looking for a class with different reading skills, dates, or lengths. Learning Goals
Read and spell words with short vowels, silent e (VCe), blends, digraphs, and closed and open syllables.
Read and spell words with irregular spelling patterns as they appear in texts.

In this enrichment class, we will review skills that are taught at Level 1 of my Reading Reboot class.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should be able to recognize CVC words:
cat, mop, lit, can, pet, dug
