This class will review all letter sounds A-Z. We will cover how to say each sound correctly and also go over the initial sounds of different words. There will be a show-and-tell component to the class where students will share items and tell other learners the beginning sound of that item. The class will be structured around a Canva presentation which will help review each letter. The teacher will review all letter sounds and students will be asked to respond chorally. We will play a mystery letter game to reinforce letter-sound correspondence. My teaching style is relaxed and supportive! I like all my students to feel comfortable and encouraged! Learners will have several opportunities to interact with the teacher and with other students in the class. A good candidate for this class knows all their letter sounds (or almost all) but could benefit from a fun review!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their ability to produce correct letter-sound correspondence. They will also improve their ability to identify initial letter sounds for different words. An example of this would be the word "hat" starts with the "h" sound". Phonemic awareness like this is essential for good reading, spelling, and writing!
