Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
In this ongoing class, learners will engage with visuals, multi-sensory tools, ideas, and sayings to help them remember and practice the correct formation and recognition of the letters b, d, p, q, m, w, n, and more!

Students will review the letter names and sounds individually with an animal action accompaniment.
We will use visuals like the "thumbs-up" bed to remember which way "b" and "d" each face.
We will also use the phrase, "Take the bat and hit the ball" to practice forming a lowercase b in both multi-sensory tools and on a given worksheet. We will include some interactive fun and baseball videos here.

We will then use the phrase, "Turn the doorknob, go up the door, and down again" for the correct formation of the lowercase letter d.
Next, we will differentiate between our p's and q's in a variety of ways. We will use the visual of planting the "p" underground to get the correct placement on paper. Then we will play fun games together to differentiate among the letters with a lot of encouragement and joy. Worksheets will be included for in-zoom practice and for extra practice on your own as an extra option. We will use visual, kinesthetic, auditory, and tactile multi-sensory strategies and tools to have a fun time learning this way for each of our letter reversals. Come enjoy this fun time together working on and playing on a skill that will last a lifetime!

February 5th: We will use visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile cues to practice b and d and reduce reversals.
January 12th: We will use visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile cues to practice p and q and reduce reversals.
February 19th, 2021: We will use visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile cues to practice m and w and reduce reversals.
February 26th, 2021: We will use visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile cues to practice n and u and reduce reversals.

I can't wait to see you there! Let's have fun reducing reversals and improving our confidence in writing in a fun, safe way!
