Class Experience

Is your child ready to learn letters? Let's me make it fun and engaging! This is a weekly introduction to English letters in alphabetical order. Each week, a new letter will be introduced to students through interactive letter identification activities, matching activities, writing, games, songs, and more! Students will learn how to recognize the uppercase and lowercase letters, the regular letter sounds for consonants (not hard versus soft sounds) and the short sounds for vowels (/a/ like "apple"). Students will practice hearing the sounds in words and be introduced to ABC order at a beginning level. In addition, these lessons incorporate activities that develop vocabulary, speaking skills, science, and math concepts. You can view the weekly topics below.

Students will be encouraged to use the pen tool in class to circle and draw lines as directed by the teacher to help facilitate an interactive learning environment.
Students will be asked to write on paper or a dry erase board in class to encouraged interactive learning. Please have these materials ready for class.

After class, I will provide additional optional activities for you to do with your child throughout the week to support his/her learning.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I believe young children learn best through specifically designed activities that seem more like play than learning to them. The higher their interest level in the play, the more they learn. I have many years of experience teaching children through play and have applied these techniques to online teaching.
