In this fun writing club, students will practice making their writing better. Each week, we will use a writing prompt in different styles of writing and students will write a response in paragraph form (3-4 sentences). There will also be a short mini-lesson where students will learn writing skills. They will then apply that skill to their writing. For example, if the mini-lesson is on adjectives, student will then add 2 adjectives to their paragraph. At the end of class time, students will read their finished products to the class! Learners need to be able to write 3-4 sentences somewhat independently, however, if they are struggling with ideas or spelling, I am always available to help! Our writing styles will rotate each week, with a different skill practiced. (February 22) Week 1 Descriptive writing & prepositional phrases (February 29) Week 2 Journal entry & synonyms/antonyms (February 1) Week 3 Creative story & homonyms (February 8) Week 4 Book Report & mechanics (capitalization/punctuation) Learners can join at any time and can take time off if needed! If you need to take a week off, be sure to unsubscribe by Sunday, as no refunds are given for missed classes.
