Let's Write!

This class will focus on encouraging writing and imagination. We will make use of sight words and these will be provided for each grade level (Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade). If other grade level sight words are needed please ask. This class is better with more students, so the more the better! Siblings, friends, other Outschool family etc. The more students the better experience of the class. 

We will start our live session with our writing journals, these will be provided to print out if you'd like or a journal can be used. The print outs will provide spaces for illustrations. 
We will discuss as a class how we feel about writing, where we'd like to focus more on (spelling or just writing and getting our creative juices flowing). 
We will then decide as a class a theme or subject to write about together. We will do an example story together where each student adds a sentence to a story that we create. Students typically come up with some very creative stories this way. 
Then students will be provided time in class to come up with their own story that fits the theme that was decided on during the live session. 

Students will be able to share their stories if they feel comfortable. Students will be encouraged to write at least 1 story on their own before the next live session and create illustrations for the stories that they have created both in class and on their own.
