This book camp will be full of laughter and fun as we read the pigeon books by Mo Willems. Each week will be a different book, with a craft or activity to go with it. The pigeon books are my favorite and I love reading them to young children. The pigeon is very silly and sneaky, always trying to get into some kind of mischief! I am a very animated reader, especially with these books. I am sure to keep your child engaged and laughing! You do not have to have these books on hand, as I will be reading them in class. You are welcome to join my camp from the beginning, come and go as fits your schedule, or drop in for your favorite book! Class will begin with a short free talk, allowing the children to get to know each other and myself. We will then read the book of the week, allowing the children to be involved as it is read! After, we will discuss the story, which will include looking at different things within it (ex. Thought bubbles, lines, punctuation used). We will then do our activity! Week of 14/10/24 - The Pigeon Has to Go to School! Week of 21/10/24 - The Duckling Gets a Cookie Week of 28/10/24 - The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog Week of 4/11/24 - The Pigeon Wants a Puppy Week of 11/11/24 - Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! Week of 18/11/24 - Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. There will be interactive activities connected with each book each week. This course is taught by Teacher Heather. Please do contact me with any questions. I look forward to being part of your learning journey!
