In this fun, interactive, 5-day camp, the learners will practice reading and spelling CVCe words (ex. cake, huge). At the end of each class learners will "show what they know" by participating in a game.

Learners will be assessed during our game time and on the assigned homework assignment. On the last day of camp each parent will receive a personal report about their child/children strengths and weakness.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this fun, interactive, 5-day camp, the learners will practice reading and spelling CVCe words (ex. cake, huge). We will learn that "bossy E" makes the vowel shout its name, making the long vowel phonetic sound. Learners in this class should already know how to read CVC words (ex. cat, dad, hut). At the beginning of each class we will review the sounds of the long vowel sounds: A, E, I, O, U. Each day learners will focus on reading and spelling words with one of the long vowel sounds. On the last day of camp learners will have a chance to "Show What They Know" as we play games to review all the long vowel sounds we have practiced. Some games we will play are: Bossy e Tic Tac Toe, Bossy e Pictionary, Bossy e Match, Bossy e Scavenger Hunt. I will present using slides and each day we will review with 1 game. Let's have fun with A, E, I, O, and yoU. The material is covered over 5 days (one week): Day 1: Long vowel A- (sample words: bake, race) Day 2: Long vowel O- (sample words:cone, rode) Day 3: Long vowel I- (sample words: bike, rice) Day 4: Long vowels E & U- (sample words: Pete, cute) Day 5: Review all Long vowels-Game Day! Let's have fun with A, E, I, O, and yoU.
Learning Goals
This 5 day camp will help learners grow as readers. After completing this class learners should be able to read CVCe words and use the long vowel sounds to help them spell CVCe words.

Learners might need help typing in the chat, sharing their screen and writing on the screen and logging on to Khoot for the homework assignment

Hello I am Mrs. Keyuanna Evans. I am the teacher your child will never forget!
I have a patient teaching approach and strongly believe in verbal praise, positive correction and having fun while learning. I hope to build students' confidence and inspire them to learn. I graduated from Virginia State University with a Masters in Education with a focus in Special Education. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Recreation and Physical Education. I have been teaching elementary school for over 17 years. I have taught students in general education and students in Special Education. I have taught in both private and charter school settings.
In my everyday life, I am a wife and mother of one sweet 11 year old girl. I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my family.
