Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
During this small group reading class, learners will preview a text and share their background knowledge. Learners will play teacher led games to preview vocabulary and tricky words from the text. Hi, I specialize in teaching reading. It is my passion to introduce students to books and develop a love for reading in kids of all ages. I have a masters degree in education from Columbia University's Teachers College and a special education certificate in special education from Brooklyn College in New York City. I have worked as a peer tutor, as a test prep tutor, and as an Orton-Gillingham tutor, helping students overcome various reading difficulties to achieve their goals. I also worked as a reading teacher and a special education teacher at a title 1 charter school in NYC. I believe that every child has the potential to become an avid reader, we just have to ignite their passion and build their skills in an individualized way. I recently moved from NYC to live near the ocean. My hobbies include going to the beach, traveling, playing tennis, and or course READING!
