In this 6 week course, we will cover content for the ACT, but also tips and tricks!

What's included

12 live meetings
11 in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. Homework on specific topics will be assigned between each class and should take about 1/2 hr. Actual ACT exams will also be assigned at some point.
Assessment
ACT diagnostic exams will be given on a regular basis and parents will be informed as to progress made. I also want to give a diagnostic before sessions start so as to show progress made as course progresses.

Class Experience

US Grade 10 - 12
In this 12 session (6 week class), we will go over the ACT math section in full depth, llooking at the main sections in depth in the context of ACT problems.
Week 1:    Day 1--  Diagnostic exam will be reviewed and assigned ahead of time to get a sense of where students are in their 
                                            studies
                  Day 2 -- Pre-Algebra material will be reviewed, including basic operations, square roots, exponents, 
                         ratios, proportion, percent, absolute value

Week 2:   Day 3:Elementary Algebra will be reviewed -- evaluation of algebraic expressions via substitution, functions, factoring, 
                solving quadratics
                 Day 4:Intermediate Algebra -- Quadratic Formula, Rational and radical expressions, Absolute value equations and 
                 inequalities, Sequences and patterns, Systems of equations

Week 3:  Day 5: Intermediate Algebra -- Matrices, Roots of Polynomials, Complex Numbers, Functions
               Day 6:Coordinate Geometry -Graphing equations and inequalities, slope(including parallel and perpendicular), distance,
                        midpoint

Week 4:  Day 7: Plane Geometry - properties of circles, triangles, quads, volume
                Day 8: Trigonometry  -- values and properties, modeling, trig identities and graphs

Week 5:  Day 9:Remediation of any topics covered; 1-30 on actual ACT
                Day 10:  31-60 on Actual ACT

Week 6:  Day 11: 1-30 Actual ACT 
                Day 12: 31-60 Actual ACT

Learning Goals

Students will work on refining their math skills while learning tips and tricks for how to improve accuracy, speed and handle ACT question wording.

any print outs I supply, pens, pencils, calculator, great attitude!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
