In this fun, ongoing PreK to Kinder math class students will practice early math concepts two days per week. We will be practicing number recognition, counting to 20, writing numbers to 20, sorting, addition and subtraction of small numbers to 10. They will learn the concepts of equality, more, and less. They will learn by touching and counting. They will learn that each number represents a quantity, and how to quantify small groups of items, and add them. This class is ongoing and will cover a variety of math concepts ea. week but also focus on the learners needs so content will vary each class but will always cover the math concepts listed above. You can enroll at anytime even if you didn’t attend the previous classes. Each class will be a fun interactive way for students to practice a variety of math skills while having fun with other students. Students will be provided with printouts to follow along and practice writing their numbers correctly. This class will be conducted in a warm, fun and interactive setting allowing the students to learn along with their peers. Class schedule is as follows: Week of 6/5/23 ~ Recognizing, counting, and writing numbers 1 and 2 Week of 6/12/23 ~ Recognizing, counting, and writing numbers 3 and 4 Week of 6/19/23 ~ Recognizing, counting, and writing numbers 5 and 6 Week of 6/26/23 ~ Recognizing, counting, and writing numbers 7 and 8
Learning Goals
Students will learn to count numbers 1-20, as well as practice writing the numbers and learn other early math concepts.

Supply List
Students should have a pencil and paper as well as any printouts provided before class. Feel free to bring any snap blocks or other manipulatives to class to help with counting. Crayons and/or colored pencils are good too for some of the printouts.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
I believe I have a LOT to bring to the classroom and I’m EXCITED to begin on this journey in learning with you! I hope to see YOU in my classroom soon!
