Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner - Advanced Level
This is a super fun lesson with a focus on learning lots of new adjectives and consolidating understanding.

Each student should leave the lesson with at least practice in some new, amazing, fabulous, awesome and fantastic new adjectives (see what I did there? :)

It is very important that children demonstrate an understanding of correct usage of adjectives in their daily writing, reading and speech but it is also important to show evidence of understanding during assessment time which can be a time where children are under pressure.

Each lesson will cover different adjectives so you can book for one lesson or come and join me again for another session! about or revisit

Each lesson will address the following:

•	How we use adjectives and their purpose.
•	How to add detail to nouns (and revisit what a noun is)
•	How adjectives can make descriptions clearer or more interesting.
•	Where adjectives appear in the sentence – examples of when they appear before and after.
•	Children will explore everyday adjectives and how to use them appropriately.
•	Why we vary adjectives – a quick look at synonyms for adjectives that they use frequently to up level their understanding and application.
•	Descriptive adjectives – how to identify them.
•	Quantitative adjectives – when and how to use them.
•	New and fun adjectives to stretch their understanding and to be used in everyday life.

Children will have differentiated homework tasks which will reinforce their understanding.

We will be exploring the world of adjectives so that when these words appear in an assessment, lesson, book or everyday conversation children are already familiar with them and can use them with ease.

This lesson is aimed at children who are between 6 and 9 years old.

Students should have a functional understanding of English grammar.

My name is Mrs. Kaye. I am an experienced and fully qualified primary / elementary school teacher. I teach mainly 1:1 math, English language) and reading. I also teach 7 plus, 11 plus, NAPLAN (Australia) and UK Year SATs prep as well as helping US students prepare for grade assessments up to grade 6. I am a fully qualified teacher and I now live in the United States.

If you do not see a time below, please reach out and I will try to find some dates, there is also an option of a waiting list for popular slots.

I have worked with London borough initiatives to help learners accomplish their very best and set them up for future success in their academic careers.

I am very keen for students to reach their goals and develop confidence in math, all aspects of English, science, and various topics. I am passionate about teaching and very good at what I do. I believe in making all areas of the curriculum accessible for children. I endeavor to make learning fun and accessible. I also have a lot of experience with different levels of learners at multiple stages of language acquisition, from fluent native English speakers to those learning English as an additional language.

Another area of expertise is to support children in the dreaded test taking process. Quizzes and assessments can be daunting for young learners, I can help with making tests more familiar and help your learner gain experience and explore techniques to be a better test taker.

At the end of each lesson, there is the option to send you feedback about your child’s participation to help you see areas of achievement and next steps. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

I look forward to meeting you.
