Description
Class Experience
This course is for students who have mastered B, A, G, and C. They can easily play songs such as Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Shave and a Haircut, and Baby Shark. They are ready to learn new notes! These students can easily hold a recorder and cover holes with their right AND left hand fingers. This course will be taught through recorded video. This allows students to move at their own pace. Students will have the ability to submit videos of the songs learned throughout the...
Students will work to master the notes B, A, G, C, D, and E. They will also be given an introduction to low F. As they learn to finger the notes on the recorder, they will also learn to read music on a musical staff and identify note values.
I am a public school general music teacher and flutist turned stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher! Recorder classes are a virtual offering of classes I have taught in the public school music class setting.
It is suggested that students practice what they have learned in class for 10 minutes a day. This will ensure a positive class experience. Students are encouraged to play calmly, without overblowing. (I know families appreciate this!)
Students will need a Baroque soprano recorder to participate in this course.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- YouTube
- FlipGrid
Students can submit videos for feedback from the teacher.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
