Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
In this 40-minute class, young artists will create a beautiful crayon-resist painting by drawing a bird and branch using crayons, then adding watercolor paint for a stunning effect! Students need watercolor paper, crayons, a small bowl for water, a paintbrush, and watercolor paints.
This small group session is perfect for those who prefer a small class setting and won't cancel even with minimal enrollment.

We'll start with a review of lines and shapes, then move on to drawing birds and branches with crayons. Students can add extra designs and unique ideas to their artwork.
After that, it's time for the magic of watercolor painting! I'll demonstrate how to use the watercolor paints to highlight the crayon resist effect. Students can ask questions and share their paintings in our encouraging, relaxed class environment.

We'll explore art vocabulary focusing on different types of lines like straight, wavy, zigzag, spiral, and curved lines."
Shapes: circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, organic shapes
Mixed Media: crayon resist
Patterns: repeating lines, shapes, colors
