Does your learner(s) need help with adding details and descriptions in writing assignments? If so, this is a class your learner needs to be in. Being able to write and communicate effectively is a life-long skill that all students need to master. In this one time course, students will learn about descriptive writing writing. Students will learn about the elements of writing descriptively, such as appealing to the senses and "showing" instead of telling. Additionally, students will receive their creative writing assignment. In class, students will begin organizing and writing their descriptive piece of literature. Students will also use a graphic organizer to sequence the main events for the descriptive writing piece. After class, students will draft, revise, and edit their work. Students will submit the final draft to receive teacher feedback. All student submissions will receive feedback. Creative writing boosts a student's ability to think creatively and express themselves through writing. In my class, I value creating a safe space for students to experiment with language and explore new ideas. I look forward to having your learner(s) in my classroom!
