What's included

Homework
1 hour per week. Each week your learner will get their supplies and make their assigned dessert. They will take pictures or record a video, to share and respond to their peers.

Class Experience

This is a 4 week flex class, that means this course does not include live meetings.
Your learners will follow along and make 4 amazing masterpieces of mochi desserts that they could share with family and friends.
I will post the ingredients and recipe via a google doc, I’ve created. I post Sunday evening/night, for each weeks recipe. I will also post the video with the steps of each recipe lesson, so your learner could follow along at their pace. Learners have the whole week to shop for the ingredients needed and make and create their masterpiece of mochi dessert. While they are going through the step they will take pictures or video record, and share with their peers. After they are done with making their delicious desserts they will take pictures or record their masterpiece, and share with their peers in the classroom. Post by Sunday morning, to give everyone a chance to see all that you did and respond. All responses will be via classroom.

Schedule for your flex classes:
Week 1: Make basic mochi Japanese ice cream
Week 2: Make flavored mochi with fruit and dipped in chocolate
Week 3: Make colored mochi and learn to make elaborate shape for a dessert table
Week 4: Make your favorite mochi and set up a dessert table.
I have listed the classes in that order, allowing them to build upon their confidence in coming weeks with preparing mochi in their kitchen with me guiding them each week.

Students will post a picture or video to introduce themselves as this is a flex class and NO LIVE VIDEOS, will be posted. You will ask questions to get to know your peers and correspond in the classroom.
I will be available to answer questions throughout the day and for each weeks class. I do teach live classes, so if I don’t respond right away, I’m not ignoring you, it is possible I’m in a live class. Most of my teaching is done by 3-4 pm. Pacific Time. I’m in California.

I can’t wait to see your beautiful masterpieces you all create. I will give individual feedback on your photos or video which ever form you choose to post.

You might ask why choose a flex class?
Your learner could complete the class at their pace and time that is best for them during the day of the week, rather than try to rearrange their schedule for a particular day and time that the class has been set.
Your learner doesn’t have to finish the recipe within the set time and feel rushed or feel like their waiting, on their peers, they could easily pause the video, if needed or take extra time to finish up. In a live video setting students could find they are going quicker or much slower than their peers. Your learners will post pictures to share with their peers.
Your learner will engage in written responses with their peers and practice giving compliments.

Ages are suggested could be a little younger or older than listed ages, as this is a self paced flex class.

I’m excited to see your touch on the recipes! Happy to be preparing mochi with you!
