Class Experience
*** This is a FLEX class and does not meet live. *** Students can work from any time zone or any day of the week and I will assist 100%. The class offers lots of learning and the ultimate in scheduling convenience. Want to get in on the latest dessert craze? In this four-week class we’ll have tons of delicious fun together learning to make hot chocolate bombs with different themes and flavor profiles. Hot chocolate bombs are a fun twist on a classic winter drink. Learners will temper chocolate to create an outer shell with a glorious shine to it. Then we’ll fill the shell with hot chocolate and other scrumptious add-ins before sealing two shells together to create a sphere of chocolatey goodness. We’ll decorate the outsides of out hot chocolate bombs to make them even more amazing before mixing them with warm milk to create an amazing treat! Each week a series of videos will be shared in the classroom providing learners with step-by-step instruction. Learners can re-watch the videos and pause while working along... whatever jives best with their creative process. I encourage lots of classroom discussion throughout class. One of the most fun aspects of hot chocolate bombs is the actual “explosion” of the chocolate shell when it has been melted by the warm milk. Learners will post a video of their explosion each week so we can all marvel and discuss. It truly is mesmerizing to watch! The fourth week of our class will be holiday-themed! I’ll be demonstrating hot chocolate bombs for winter holidays (peppermint) and fall holidays (pumpkin spice). At this point in class learners will have plenty of confidence with our process and they’re encouraged to create their own holiday-themed hot chocolate bomb recipe. They’re welcome to brainstorm as a group in class and share ideas. I am available to help create a supply list for their invention too! I am super excited to see what everyone dreams up! What will we be making? Week One: Classic Hot Chocolate Bomb Week Two: Peanut Butter Lover’s Hot Chocolate Bomb Week Three: Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Bomb Week Four: Holiday Challenge!!! If a learner is stuck on something or jumping up and down with success... share! I love to see it all - from work in progress photos to completed masterpieces. Participants can learn so much through classroom discussions and peer review. Plus we all love cheering one another's successes in the classroom. Let's create together!

Supply List
I am an Outschool teacher and parent. When it comes to supply lists I always provide the kind of supply list I want to receive as a parent…. super detailed! This is an overview of supplies and ingredients, but in the classroom you’ll find an even more detailed version with notes and photos. Hot chocolate bomb mold, disposable rubber gloves, brand new paint brush, semi-sweet chocolate chips, hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, sprinkles, peanut butter, mini Reese's peanut butter cups, marshmallow fluff, salted caramel. In week four I'll be demonstrating some fun holiday-themed hot chocolate bombs. I'll be using: peppermint extract, peppermint marshmallows, pumpkin spice mix, and pumpkin spice marshmallows. However, by this point in our class learners will pretty much be hot chocolate bomb experts! I'll issue a "holiday challenge" in the classroom and encourage learners to dream up their own holiday-themed bomb recipe. I'll be on hand to help with brainstorming and necessary supplies for their idea!

I am a former bakery owner who loves to push the envelope when it comes to edible creativity!
I started taking cake classes about 10 years ago for the sole purpose of making amazing creations for my own kid's birthdays. It quickly became a passion and grew into a thriving business. I am also skilled in fondant work, drip cakes, chocolate work, and gourmet cupcakes. I can take young bakers just about as far as they'd like to go in the world of confectionery arts!
