US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten
In these short classes created especially for younger attention spans, your child will be introduced to the alphabet letters and sounds of each letter. This class meets for 20 minutes two times a week and covers letters Aa-Zz. Learners can bring the printable practice page posted in the classroom, or if preferred blank paper or a white board. After each meeting, students will also be able to download an optional letter of the day crown to make at home, as well as some additional fun activity sheets as a support to students who wish to continue practicing between classes. In every lesson: 1. We will sing a fun version of the alphabet song. 2. We will share a show and tell item that goes with the letter of the day. 3. Students will enjoy finding objects that start with each letter in a fun, interactive lesson. 4. Students will learn to recognize the upper and lower case form of each letter, and also the sound it makes. (Two letters a week!) 5. Students will learn how to write the letter of the day and have time to begin practicing the upper and lowercase letter. 6. Finally, students will draw a picture for each letter (with guidance) , and share their work with the class. (For very young learners, I am happy to provide an alternate color along activity instead if desired.) This is a very active class designed to keep young children who may be new to school or the online learning experience engaged, and socially connected to each other. After moving through all the alphabet letters A-Z, the lessons will rotate through the alphabet again. Join anytime, and stay as long as you like. Some learners have gone through all the alphabet letters twice! Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I am so excited for the opportunity to bring creative, energetic and meaningful lessons to the learners on Outschool. I am a certified school teacher, and I have classroom experience in both public and private schools. Currently, I work exclusively teaching online while homeschooling my own children. As a homeschooling family, we love to spend time together traveling when possible, and enjoying the great outdoors at our country home with our animals.
The classes I offer are full of fun activities that engage the students while they are learning. I love teaching with a theme that captivates the interests of learners. All of the classes that I offer are designed for learners in the 3-7 years old age range. My specialties include circle time, playdough playtime, alphabet mini classes and beginning level language arts.
It is my goal to give every student time to shine in all of my classes. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the lesson. This helps build important social skills, make friends and also feel important, valued and special. I look forward to seeing you soon in one of my very fun, interactive child-friendly classes soon!
