Class Experience

This will be a fun way to learn about each of the 7 Continents and their surrounding Oceans. In each class we will learn a Continent, famous landmarks, the connecting ocean, where they are on the map and fun facts. Students will learn about what makes up a continent, geography, landmarks, and about the wildlife of each continent. At the end of each lesson, we’ll have a fun review game (word search and matching) to see what we learned and where the continents and oceans are on the map.

Students will be asked to state one interesting fact about each continent of their choosing. We will also be reviewing and labeling a map that shows where the continents are. This is designed to be an interactive class where students can share which continent they live on, which continent(s) they have visited and where they have family. Short videos and games will be included to help reinforce what they are learning about each continent.

We will be using Nearpod in conjunction with Outschool as an interactive approach to learning the continents. Each week, students will receive a Nearpod link that will include instructions, tips, a poll, and questions. I will provide parents with a detailed document to explain how both programs are used to ensure that your experience is as smooth as possible!

As an Army brat, I believe there is a lot of important and fun facts to learn about the 7 continents. The different continents have interesting and an important history of their own and offer amazing facts on their landscape and culture. I have traveled through a lot of the U.S and Europe and enjoy sharing my experiences with my students. I am offering this class to share my knowledge and excitement to see other parts of the world and to allow learners from different backgrounds to discuss what they have experienced.
