❗️SCHEDULING NOTE: If you do not see a "start date" that you are looking for, please let me know. In most cases, I am happy to schedule a class to begin on whatever Sunday works best for your schedule. Also, note that you will have access to the class materials and videos indefinitely with FLEX classes. ⭐️ LIVE (ONGOING) CLASS ALTERNATIVE: This FLEX class series mirrors my 36-week live (ongoing) class. It is an alternative for families who need more flexibility with their schedules. I've recorded videos of the same material I present in the live class and FLEX students receive the same supplementary activities as the ongoing class. Set 1 of 6 covers Weeks 1-6 of the live (ongoing) class, Set 2 of 6 covers Weeks 7-12, etc. Please see each listing for a list of specific weekly spelling patterns. Whether your child is a proficient reader and great at spelling or a struggling reader who has difficulty with spelling, this class will help reinforce what they know and support them on their learning journey. This course targets a different third grade spelling pattern each week with fun activities in weekly videos and optional supplementary activities throughout the week. Every Monday morning (US Eastern time), I will upload the week’s materials: 1.) an introductory video of me teaching the week’s spelling pattern with supplementary worksheets -- this video will include periodic questions and pauses to encourage students to respond and remain engaged with the activities (finding the spelling pattern in a story, sorting words that do and do not fit the spelling rule, and spelling/reading the words), 2.) a video of me reading dictation sentences for students to write, plus an answer key, 3.) a self-checking interactive Google Slides presentation to check for comprehension of the meaning of the words, and 4.) a video where I read ten words for a spelling test, plus an answer key, and 5.) bonus activity ideas for practicing the week's words. These videos can be watched, paused, and restarted at any time after they're posted to match your child's needs for pacing. This class will focus on the following spelling patterns: WEEK 1: suffixes -able/-ably (comfortable, laughable, honorably, ...) WEEK 2: changing y to i (mysteries, emptied, pennies, ...) WEEK 3: contractions (didn't, there's, we're, ...) WEEK 4: contractions (we'll, you've, she'd, ...) WEEK 5: final -er (center, shower, answer, ...) WEEK 6: final -le/-al (central, candle, giggle, ...) For your convenience, this class is offered as a Flexible Schedule Class (FLEX). There are NO LIVE MEETINGS. Instead, I will upload weekly videos and assignments to the Outschool Classroom, and students will participate by posting their work and responding to the prompts provided. On Kahoot, students will engage in a friendly asynchronous (optional) competition to practice each week's spelling words in a fun game format.
Learning Goals
Students will learn and practice third grade spelling words.

Parental Guidance
- YouTube: YouTube video links for the introduction, dictation sentences, and spelling test videos are shared in Classroom Posts. Outschool embeds these links on its platform so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website.
- Kahoot!: The teacher creates a Kahoot! spelling game and shares the link each week in Classroom Posts. An account is not required to use this resource and students do not need to use their real names when playing the Kahoot! game.
Supply List
- Paper and pencil - Weekly spelling sheet (posted in the Outschool classroom) - A folder or notebook to store weekly work
