Class Experience

During this class, students will learn how to create their very own two-point perspective art to communicate the illusion of space and depth. Two-point perspective occurs when you can see two vanishing points from your point of view. Two-point perspective drawings are often used in architectural drawings and interior designs; they can be used for drawings of both interiors and exteriors. It is a way of drawing objects upon a flat piece of paper so that they look three-dimensional and realistic. We will discuss all the different elements of linear perspective like the horizon line, vanishing point, transversal lines, orthogonal lines and foreground/middle ground/background. Finally, we will outline our drawing with a marker and if there's time, they can color their artwork using their choice of markers, crayons, water color or colored pencils.

As the teacher, I will guide the students step-by-step through each process and draw alongside them. In the materials section below, you can find everything that you will need for this class.

Learning Goals

Students will understand how to find the center of an object and how to estimate depths. They will learn how to create their own depth using lines and shapes and ultimately create a two-point perspective drawing.

Hello! My name is Nikki and I am a teacher of many things! I am passionate about art, video games, animation, technology and leadership. I have a college degree in animation.. how COOL is that!?

My classroom is very relaxed and even though all of my lessons have structure, everyone is free to make creative choices and customize their projects any way they like. My teaching style is very patient, very kind and I like to make students laugh, smile and have fun learning.

When I'm not teaching, I play video games with my family. I have two kids - ages 15 and 6 and a cat. But my cat doesn't play video games.. he doesn't have thumbs! :) Our favorite games to play are:
     -- Minecraft
     -- Roblox
     -- Mario
     -- Among Us
Just to name a few ;)

This is me! Hope to see you in the classroom soon!
