We will spend our live session discussing the cat family! 10 minutes- will be spent discussing background knowledge, and answering what a house cat has in common with a lion. 5 minutes- will be spent learning vocabulary for the lesson/topic (below is the specific vocabulary that will be taught). Feline: A member of the cat family Carnivore: An animal that eats meat most or all of the time Agile: Graceful, flexible, fast Retractable: Can move back into its original place Pounce: To jump or lunge on prey 10 minutes- will be spent discussing cat family facts, answering questions, class discussion (we will be making use of a screen share for two websites) 10 minutes- will be spent answering questions and wrapping up.

Students will not need to purchase any materials. Many video links and website resources are shared with the welcome post to help students extend their study and have class resources for this topic.

As a 2017 graduate of Western Governors University and a 2015 graduate of Central Washington University, I have had experience as a certificated teacher in the state of Washington as a Family and Consumer Sciences Career and Technical Education Educator with a masters in curriculum and instruction. The last five years I have spent specializing and honing my skills at the elementary level through in-depth substituting. I am now back in the physical classroom teaching 9-12 grade. I have managed 140 students a semester assessing student needs, updating performance documents and tracking assessment. I’ve had many experiences learning new software for teaching practices that I have picked up quickly.

I have been able to perfect my communication skills with those that I work closely with including community partners when applicable.
