Are you looking for a class that can help your middle schooler understand the value of hard work, how to set and achieve goals, and how to take responsibility/initiative? In this 5 day course, students will learn about 2 habits each day from the national bestselling book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. This book is not required for this class, but I highly encourage you to check it out because it compliments this class so perfectly. I have been teaching leadership classes for over 6 years and I really have a passion for teaching others how to turn discipline into success. I enjoy it so much that I became certified as a Franklin Covey Facilitator and was inspired to create this class after reading the book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens”. As a mom of a teen myself, this book impacted my life and my family’s life in such a positive way and now I want to share that same impact with your family. If you have a teen or a pre-teen, now is the perfect time to introduce effective habits that will benefit them as they navigate young adulthood. These short one-hour classes will help students to both discover the 7 Habits, and understand the key concepts within them. The more students are engaged in the learning process, the more they internalize the leadership content and apply it in their own world. This internalization enables students to think critically and allows them to apply these habits in day-to-day situations. Here is the breakdown of each class for the entire course: Day 1 -- Be Proactive Lesson : Reactive people make choices based on emotions, feelings, their moods and on impulse. Proactive people make choices based on principles/values. Day 2 -- Begin with the End in Mind Lesson: Importance of Creating Goals and controlling your own destiny. --Put First Things First Lesson: How to get more organized using the Time Quadrant Model, which divides things into important and urgent categories. Day 3 -- Think Win-Win Lesson: Importance of loyalty, responsibility, accountability and creating strong relationships. -- Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood Lesson: Importance of communication and listening skills. How to win friends and influence people. Day 4 -- Synergize Lesson: Focuses on collaboration and functioning as a team for a common goal. -- Sharpen the Saw Lesson: Learn about the things we need to regularly renew ourselves and strengthen 4 key areas: the body, brain, heart and soul. Day 5 - Summary & Review Each lesson is packed with illustrated stories, fun activities, powerful quotes and class discussions. By the end of this course, students should be able to apply the wisdom of these 7 habits to situations like tough issues and life-changing decisions. Parents - feel free to message me if you have any questions. Students - Come learn with me! My classes are fun, engaging and I promise you’ll learn a lot! See you soon!
