In this class your child will learn how fractions, decimals and percents are related. I will use visual aids to help with this! We will also learn how to calculate percents in the real world! This includes tax and tip! I will teach students to do this with and without a calculator. Please have your students bring menus or items they’re interested in purchasing to use during this portion of the lesson. Your child should also have a calculator, paper and a pencil. A personal white board is helpful as well!!!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of percentages. Students will be able to convert percents to decimals and fractions. Students will be able to calculate tax and tip.

Supply List
Paper, pencil, white board and marker. Optional: menus, magazines with items your child may be interested in buying!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
