30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
US Grade 1 - 4
During this 30 minute class, the students will learn about nouns. The teacher employs singing, interactive games and other auditory and visual supports to teach this concept to learners. After the class, a review worksheet will be posted for students to practice and strengthen their understanding of the lesson content. The teacher starts with greetings and an introduction to the lesson on nouns. Plays "The Noun Song" to encourage students to relax. Asks the students their understanding as to what in the song was a noun. Engages the students by asking them to put up their hands to participate in the discussion. Now, it's evaluation time through interactive activity. The teacher gives five sentences with gaps to be filled in, multiple choice. Gives students ten minutes to answer. Checks each one's answers. Wraps up the lesson by asking if they have any questions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone!
I'm passionate about teaching the parts of speech and structure of the English language and seeing my students progress. I also love to play the guitar and sing different English cover songs. Similar to my work as a former band vocalist, I'd enjoy teaching basic guitar and English songs to interested students as a separate course.
I hold a B.A. with major in English Literature, and continue advancing my knowledge of the English language. I studied Teaching ESL through Oxford Seminars and was awarded my ESL/TEFL/TESOL Teaching Certificate March 2020.
One of my typical English classes would focus on nouns. I draw upon interactive and fun strategies like songs, games and other auditory and visual supports to help students understand what it is that makes a word a noun. A review worksheet would be posted after class for students to practice and strengthen their understanding of the lesson content.
I've been teaching and working with young people for 21 years. I've raised (and in part homeschooled) a gifted daughter who was sent to the University of Ottawa at the age of 14 for an English creative writing enrichment program.
