In this six-week self-paced class, learners will be growing an avocado tree from a seed. This process does not use toothpicks and is a much easier way to grow avocado trees. The avocado tree is meant to be a house plant. It takes 8-10 years for a tree to produce avocados and may also need help from a fruit baring tree in order to produce avocadoes. During the class learners will start with an avocado seed and chart the growth of the tree in worksheets. The worksheets I created using Canva, but the learner does not need an account to access it. I will post it in the classroom. They will be able to download it and print it out. I also encourage learners to post pictures of their avocado seed in the classroom. This is a self-paced class so there are no live classes. Parental Guidance
During the first lesson, leaners will need to extract a seed from an avocado. The leaner may need to use a knife in order to get the seed out. Parental supervision may be required during this process.
