Class Experience

In this fast-paced exercise class, learners follow a cartoon-style slideshow of a trick-or-treater undertaking an adventure. The hero must run, sneak, duck, jump, and fight through dangers, traps, and enemies to save the day. Learners imitate the movements of the trick-or-treater throughout the adventure and share in the glory of victory! Coach Erick will enthusiastically demonstrate the movements in real time and provide specific instructions as well as encouragement. The goal is to keep moving as much as possible.

Learners can increase or decrease the intensity as they need. The teacher guides the class by telling which exercises to do while following the ninja through the story. Students need unobstructed space with no tripping hazards as we will be moving around a lot! Also be sure your learner has water on hand - we'll be getting a workout!
Learning Goals
Students will learn that working out can be fun! They will also increase physical fitness and stamina.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
- This class contains cartoon violence against non-human enemies. - Safety is the top proiority! Remember to be aware of potential hazards including, but not limited to, needing an open workout space, proper footwear, a water bottle, and adequate stretching beforehand. As with all physical activities, injury can occur if not properly supervised.
Supply List
The hero in the adventure uses a glowstick in a manner similar to a sword. Learners may wish to have their own "glowstick sword" which could be a toy sword, a cardboard tube, a pool noodle, or any non-dangerous, stick-like object. Learners will be encouraged to swing their "glowsticks" at various points in the adventure. If a student does not have a "glowstick sword," the "fighting" movements can be pretend.

Learners will need enough space to move around in front of their devices. They should be able to stand and have several feet in each direction with no obstructions or tripping hazards. This will prevent accidental collisions with the learner and with the "glowstick sword" as well as falls.

Please ensure that your learner has water on hand during class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Erick. I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Furman University. I'm an online teacher, a martial arts instructor with black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a business owner, and most recently, an aspiring author. I live at the beach in Florida with my wife (also an Outschool teacher!), our science-loving son, and our cuddly cat.

I believe learning should be fun and engaging and my teaching style definitely reflects that! My goal as a teacher is to inspire, empower, and entertain students while teaching things I'm passionate about - business, finance, martial arts, fitness, and video games. In my classes, be prepared for lots of laughter and silliness in addition to learning.

I hope to see you in the classroom!
