In this ongoing life skills course, we look at a different scenario each week. Learners share their ideas through discussion and debate. Learners will develop their confidence in speaking. In this course, we will use our thinking hats to look at different scenarios in different ways. We will use a variety of teaching methods such as questioning to think outside the box. Each week has a different focus and aims to engage learners through discussion. Week of 18/3/24 - The importance of body language in public speaking Week of 25/3/24 - Effective techniques for managing nervousness before a speech Week of 1/4/24 - Structuring a compelling presentation: Introduction, body, conclusion Week of 8/4/24 - Utilizing visual aids effectively to enhance your message Week of 15/4/24 - The power of storytelling in public speaking Week of 22/4/24 - Engaging your audience through active listening and interaction Week of 29/4/24 - Overcoming common speaking challenges like stuttering or filler words Week of 6/5/24 - Incorporating humour appropriately to connect with your audience Week of 13/5/24 - The art of persuasive speaking: Crafting and delivering convincing arguments Week of 20/5/24 - Using vocal variety and tone to convey emotion and emphasis Week of 27/5/24 - Developing confidence through practice and rehearsal techniques Week of 3/6/24 - Handling unexpected situations or distractions during a speech Week of 10/6/24 - Understanding your audience and tailoring your message accordingly Week of 17/6/24 - Using feedback constructively to improve your public speaking skills Week of 24/6/24 - The role of empathy and authenticity in connecting with listeners Week of 1/7/24 - Techniques for effective impromptu speaking and thinking on your feet Week of 8/7/24 - Managing time effectively during a presentation Week of 15/7/24 - Strategies for maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure Week of 22/7/24 - Leveraging storytelling techniques to make complex topics more accessible Week of 29/7/24 - Building credibility and authority through confident delivery and expertise Further classes will be added.
