Class Experience

In this class, we will discuss how to graph a line using the y=mx+b formula. Students should be familiar with Pre Algebra Concepts (variables, like terms, and simple equations). We will discuss slope and how to find it. We will also discuss graphing on a coordinate plane and how to find the formula using a graph. We will be using Desmos to help with graphing along with other presentation materials.

We will cover....
Parts of the Graph
Graphing Points
Finding Slope (from the formula, graph, and two points)
Finding the Y-intercept
Graphing Lines from Equations
Writing the equation
Solving for Y (time permitting)
Solving for B (time permitting)
Parallel and Perpendicular Lines (time permitting)

I have been tutoring Algebraic Math for nearly 10 years. I currently teach Foundations of Math and Math 1 (in Spanish) where graphing is a big focus. I make this topic interesting by including a song, drawings, and applications.
