Beginner Level
In this 40 minute class, learners will create a beautiful wax-resist painting of an emperor penguin. First, learners will be led through an easy to follow step-by-step drawing of a penguin. We will use crayons to prepare our paintings for the wax-resist technique. Learners are invited to add their own creative winter scene in the background. We will use a variety of watercolor techniques including: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and wax-resist. A demonstration of each watercolor technique will be given. Class discussions will be focused on fun facts about this unique penguin species. Get ready to be creative!
