Practicing stitches between classes will help tremendously with your ability.Class Experience
*Some crochet experience is required. If you have never crocheted before, see my other class, "Learning How To Crochet". What you will learn in this 3-week course: -What is amigurumi? -How to make a magic ring -Crocheting in a round -Single crochet -Increase stitch and decrease stitch -How to read a basic pattern and abbreviations -How to crochet with confidence -How to successfully finish a project This class will teach you the very basics that you will need to confidently create any crochet animal or doll. Every amigurumi uses these techniques very consistently. This will also teach you the basics of how to read a pattern. This is the prerequisite course for my other amigurumi classes. Once students successfully master creating an amigurumi ball, they will be allowed to move on to the next course I will be offering at a later date. Crocheting is a tricky thing to do when you're new to it, I definitely know that, but I am here to help you as much as possible. I highly encourage asking for help when you are confused or stuck. I expect that all of my students respect their fellow classmates that may need extra help. I will be sure to go slow and explain what I am doing as thoroughly as possible. I am also available to message after class if any questions should arise. I very much encourage practice in the days between classes. And remember, mistakes are proof that you are trying.

Hi there!
My name is Tessa DeForge. I live in the beautiful state of Vermont with my husband, 2 silly dogs and 2 precocious cats. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011 and hold a bachelor's in Art Education.
I am very passionate about education. I have taught in a traditional setting for 10 years as a 6-12 art teacher and as an early educator. I love to teach a multitude of things through art and play. Some of the classes I offer are: Art Social Group, Crochet Club, 1;1 Knitting and Crochet classes, as well as social groups, to name a few. I am always looking to expand on my class list. The skies the limit when it comes to art and I hope to have some more exciting classes up and running in the very near future.
