In this class, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our adorable miniature figures. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. As a class, we will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble our body parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. Students may personalize their dragon figures after the basics are discussed. I added heart shapes using a mini cookie cutter! The style of this dragon is laying on it's back, so the belly shows, which works well with any object you'd like your dragon to hold. Note that the teacher will be using Polymer Clay, but Students may use whichever sculpting medium they are comfortable with. Supplies: Sculpting Medium (any brand/type you prefer. I like to use Sculpey III Polymer Clay, which is what I used in the sample image). Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, smoothing tool, dotting tool or end of small paintbrush (for eye sockets) A cutting tool (clay knife, or anything that you are comfortable with using) A non stick surface to work on Black glass beads (4mm works well) or black clay for eyes. Minimum of 2 clay colors Optional: Miniature heart shaped cookie/dough cutter **Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You will bake after class. Parental help is necessary.

She worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. She tutors Fashion Illustration to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Lori is also a Polymer Clay artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator.
