Photo courtesy of Gita Krishnamurti on upsplash. In this class we will make Ripplefluffs and discuss our love of Keeper of the Lost Cities. The week before class begins I will send out the recipe for Ripplefluffs, so that you will have all ingredients on hand. We will be begin class by going over all the ingredients that we will need and how to make Ripplefluffs. We will then go through the process of making Ripplefluffs. I teach all my cooking classes with 2 cameras so that students can see how to cook/prepare the food and see me and what I am instructing them to do. If we have any down or extra time the students can discuss their favorite Keeper characters, themes, what abilities they like the most and which book they are currently reading in the series. We will keep the class size small, so that I can help each student with their Rifflefluff recipe. This class may take a little longer than the 55 minute period. It depends on how long it takes to help each student with their recipe.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the following:
-How to make Ripplefluffs
-Cooking basics
-How to follow a recipe

Teacher expertise and credentials
North Carolina Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language
I fell in love with the first Keeper of the Lost Cities book about 1 1/2 years ago and then shared the great story with my 4 daughters. Since then we have read all the books in the series multiple times, listened to the series on Audible, and gone to see Shannon Messenger in person and had her sign several of our books!
I graduated with a BA in English and Spanish for secondary school teaching and planned to teach high school English. I ended up teaching English as a Second Language to ages 7-15. I have taught ESL as a public school teacher and in private settings. I have taught many book studies to ages 8-17 including but not limited to: The Old Man and the Sea, Lord of the Flies, Where the Red Fern Grows, Badge of Courage, The Great Gatsby, The Call of the Wild, The Outsiders, The Scarlet Letter, Tom Sawyer and others. Reading is one of my passions and I love sharing that with my children and my students.
