Class
Play
In this 3-week course, students explore world celebrations and learn how to compile information into an online book to share with the class.

Class experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Students will learn how to research and compile information for how other countries celebrate, as well as construct an online book showcasing different countries and cultures.
I have taught this unit many times. I also have a Multicultural and Transnational Literature Certificate from East Carolina University.
Homework Offered
Projects that are not finished in class will be finished for homework. At most, this would require one hour per class. Reading materials will be assigned twice, which would require approximately 30 minutes to read. This class is not designed to have a great deal of outside homework.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
All assessments will be informal. Students may be asked to re-do pieces of their work if it does not meet class guidelines or is missing key content.
Grades Offered
All materials will be available, for free, over the Internet.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
This class will utilize the website kahoot.com to review ideas previously covered in class. Likewise, Google Jam boards will be utilized to generate ideas and review class content. Both of these websites do not require an account, and all log-ins will go through a shared link in the chat. The last week of class will utilize the website: Bookcreator.com. This website allows the students to create their own online books using a unique class code provided during class time. Students do not need to create an account.
