Let's "C" You Play Some Chords (Level 1 Plus)

In this ongoing piano/keyboard course, learners will focus on playing songs with chords in C Major. Throughout this course learners will focus on reading notes and interpreting music symbols. Each week learners will work on a new song. Beginning songs will include simple 2-note chords and learners will progress throughout the course to 3-note chords that require the hands to move out of traditional C position. The learner will read and play notes on the treble staff and bass staff using both finger numbers and standard notation. National Music Standards *MU:Pr4.2.6b When analyzing selected music, read and identify by name or function standard symbols for rhythm, pitch, articulation, and dynamics. *MU:Pr6.1.5a Perform music, alone or with others, with expression, technical accuracy, and appropriate interpretation.
Homework Offered
Learners should practice between classes and may post a video to receive teacher feedback. Learners may also play for the class throughout the course.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Optional assessments will be offered through Kahoot! to review music theory. There will be at least one online quiz per unit.Grades Offered
Learners should be familiar with finger numbers for both hands, basic piano playing skills, and basic reading skills for two handed playing.
Song sheets and other resources will be posted to the classroom each week. Learners need a pencil to make notes on the music. Learners would also benefit from a binder or folder to organize music.
