Students will learn the names of the different utensils that are used in the kitchen for cooking. The students will learn how to measure the ingredients. They will learn how the ingredients are mixed and why. They will learn different ways items are measured and how to substitute different ingredients. Students will learn the different terms used in baking. The classes are scheduled for 1 hour but they may go over depending on the recipe. Our first week we will talk about reading recipes, measurements and substitutions. Recipes change with the skills that the students show in the class. Some recipes made in this class are Jello Cake Holiday treats Oatmeal butterscotch cookies Banana muffins with crumble top Cake Brownies Mini cherry cheese cakes Chewy O's

Supply List
The student will need to collect the ingredients each week for the recipe that I will supply. The student will need to have liquid measuring cups, Dry measuring cups, measuring spoons, sifter for dry ingredients, mixing bowels, baking pans, sheets or pie plates and mixing spoons wooden ones are easier to use. If there is anything different I will notify you in advance. Hand mixer or Stand mixer. We can use a mixing spoon if you don't have one. Oven for baking.

I owned my own Mexican Restaurant and I sold it September of 2020. That kept me very busy.
I owned and worked in my own horticulture business installing and maintaining landscape beds for 20+ years.
