Bienvenue to French Vocabulary Through Song. This ongoing 30-minute once a week class will be full of fun as we sing songs and nursery rhymes in French.

Homework
1 hour per week. Each week we will sing a few different songs. Learners will receive the songs that they can practice at home or a coloring/activity worksheets.

Class Experience

Bienvenue Mes Amis. 
Allons nous chanter des comptines et chansons. 

This class offers your child a chance to sing and learn songs in French. Learners will discover two new French songs each week. Lyrics/Videos will be shared to the classroom tab after class. This helps encourage your learner to keep practicing at home. 

There is no prior knowledge needed. 
Suitable for beginners and to those with little exposure to French looking to build vocabulary. 

Each week will be a different vocabulary lesson. If your learner is joining the group on a day midway through the 12-week program, they will be able to circle back to the beginning as this class runs in a continuous cycle. 
New sections will also be scheduled every month.

**** If you prefer to have the same type of instruction but in a different format, I do offer private 1:1, 30 minute classes.

Classroom Policies:

- Please have your learner familiarize themselves with the Outschool features such as the unmute button and raising their hand. 
To protect the safety of all students, the learner must be able to turn on their video so that I may verify their identity.

- Outschool policy is one learner onscreen per account. Siblings are welcome to sign up under different accounts.

- There is a 2 learner minimum for this class and a 6 learner maximum. If there are low enrolments of a particular section, parents will be notified and the section will close. If there are high enrolments for a particular section that sells out, please check back for new sections opening up. 

 - Class recordings will be posted to the classroom ONLY for semester courses and private one-on-one tutoring lessons. If your learner misses an ongoing class, please visit the classroom tab for the material completed that day.
Learning Goals
Students will briefly learn about the French language, as well as practice their skills of pronunciation, all while singing traditional French songs. This class is for new learners to the language and will focus on listening to the music and retaining as much vocabulary as they can. It is encouraged that parents practice with their learners after class.

Non-US Teaching Certificate in English to Speakers of Other Languages
Teacher Monique (Madame Monique), spent 15 years teaching English & French around the world. She has taught/lived in 8 different countries and has traveled to over 40 countries.  
While overseas she taught children ages 2-16 in private, charter & international schools. Additionally, she helped prepare college/university students working towards their entrance exams and taught adults needing business and conversational English for their workplace. 
In 2015 she returned to her home country of Canada and soon after started teaching with two online ESL companies based in China.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Criminology as well as TEFL and CELTA certificates for ESL learners. 
She has dual citizenship with France, grew up in a French speaking household and attended French Immersion from preK to Grade 12. She is a Native Bilingual Speaker.

Before working in the field of education, she worked in Customs & Immigration and Youth Corrections/Youth Probation. 

 She is a mom to a 14yr old boy who has level 2 autism and a rare epileptic disorder. She spends a majority of her time dedicated to special needs and inclusion advocacy and is very adaptable, patient and welcoming to all learners.
