This will be an informal assessment by them tasting the cookies and telling me how they turned out.Class Experience
This is a one time class in which we will make a lemon sandwich cookies. The cookies are rolled out, cut with small cutters (1-3/4inches), and filled with a lemon filling. We will first mix the dough, roll it out and bake a batch. During the baking, we will make the frosting. Then we will roll out the second batch and bake it. Last we will frost the cookies and sprinkle powdered sugar on them. I will demonstrate what we are doing, and check the students to see if they are understanding and completing the process correctly. I think I have a positive teaching style. The learners may ask questions and if we have extra time, we will play a game. We will be using an electric mixer, rolling pin and oven. Parents will be able to supervise those students who require help.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the proper techniques to make all cookies.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everyone, I am very excited to tell you about myself. I believe in having fun while learning. My background is in Home Economics and French. I have taught pre-school through adults. During the summer I am the Art Director at an outdoor camp. Along with teaching in public schools and summer camp, I have taught Chinese students online English.
I am qualified to teach classes on many topics and enjoy doing it. It would be my pleasure to partner with you in a new learning experience. I have a degree in Home Economics and French from Iowa State. I also have a Master's degree in Education. I started my career as a Home Economist for Kansas City and Light. We demonstrated electric cooking appliances as well as assembled cookbooks. Teaching in public and private schools was my next career move. My husband and I had a food establishment in Northern Virginia before moving to California. Right now I am teaching in Out school and also in my local school district.
I believe learning should be fun. Small hands-on classes are a great way for students to enjoy learning. Having a knowledge of food preparation has been such of a joy for me, and I would like to pass the joy on to my students.
I have two dogs and love cook, sew, garden and cycle. If you would like a private class or have any questions, please contact me. Elizabeth
