Learning to Read-Multi-Sensory Approach With Phonics

This is a 6 week class geared towards PreK-1st students who need extra support in reading. It will be engaging and multi-sensory. We will focus on phonics, decoding, writing and spelling. I will use the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Join our small group classes, specifically designed for students at similar reading levels who are just learning to read. We will work intensely on phonics skills to help with decoding. This course will be organized like a guided reading lesson the kids are probably used to in their regular classrooms. - Students will be able to blend and read CVC words.
- Students will be able to write CVC words.
- Students will be able to read and write words with initial consonant blends
- Students will be able to read and write words with digraphs
- Students will be able read and spell grade level sight words/heart words
I have my Masters in Education as well as having been trained in LETRS and Science of Reading.

Magnetic board with letters (Amazon link: https://amzn.to/32ew6zV) Washi TEXTURED tape (can be purchased at Michael's or Hobby Lobby) The last few minutes of class will be an interactive game between students. Students should bring a separate device with an internet browser like a parent's smartphone, iPad, or laptop, or if students know how to use the mouse on their computer, it is easiest to teach them how to click the link I'll post in the chat. Students may need support the last 6 minutes of their first few classes getting set up with the game initially. They should play the game independently once they’re signed up to allow them to practice. They do not need an account and won't login. I will provide the game code live in zoom when it’s time to play, as well as posting the helpful link they can directly click in the chat once the time comes.
Prior to your student's first class, please obtain the supplies for the class. A parent will need to cut three strips of textured tape (most people use glitter washi tape) and place them to your child's magnetic board. I will show you the first class what that looks like.
