This class is all about the American Girl Doll Kirsten Larsen! In this 3 week class, student will enjoy learning about pioneer life in 1854, while also learning about the American Girl Doll Kirsten. In addition, the students will enjoy learning about the country Sweden and what is was like to immigrant to the United states in 1854. The students do not have to pre-read the books before class! We will learn about her journey to America, and finally we will learn all about life in 1854 in...
Students will be able to identify Where Sweden is on a World Map. They will be able to identify some main facts about Sweden while filling out a worksheet. The Students will be able to identify Where America is on a World map, as well as Minnesota. The student will be able to explain what the journey from Sweden to America was like in 1854. The students will be able to explain what life as a pioneer child was like in America in 1854. We will talk about life as a pioneer child. Lastly, the students will make rag dolls like Kirsten had.
I already taught this class for my daughter's homeschooling co-op class, and It was very well received! My children love American Girl Dolls and their books. I love teaching History, so it is a perfect match!
