Learn to Write Sentences Using Your Favorite Pokemon Character One-time Class

Does your child love Pokemon? Do they struggle with writing at times? Want to sneak in some basic writing skills with something they enjoy? Then get ready for some game-time writing! This class is an entry level writing class created to engage those learners that love to write as well as those that may struggle to write at times. To start things off, the student will be engaged by discussing their favorite characters with each other. They really seem to enjoy sharing their ideas. They may bring pictures, cards, stuffed animals or toys to show and help create topics for discussion. We will use a thinking map to learn how to brainstorm their ideas and turn those ideas into sentences with a paragraph structure. The student will learn how to create a topic sentence, a few sentences that will make up the body of the paragraph and a closing sentence. The student will need to be able to write letters and words independently but I will guide and support them with proper spelling of their words and sentence structure.
