This is a FLEX CLASS. Flex classes allow learners to work at their own pace and stop and re-watch the videos as needed. We do not meet live. Everything is done virtually. If your learner struggles to write neatly, this class is a must! We will focus on writing legibly, using a curriculum I have created over my 20 years working in the public schools. Each week we will focus on a specific writing rule (line placement, letter size, spacing) with the final week being a review and practice. This class is for students with a basic ability to write the letters of the alphabet who need additional practice in overall neatness and legibility. In general, this class would be best for ages 7-11 with some flexibility depending on your child's skill level. Each week I will upload 2 videos to the classroom. The first video is for both the parent and the learner and will focus on pencil grip, paper position, posture, and ways to encourage practice. The second video will teach the writing rule for the week with instructions for the assignment at the end. Week 1: Line Placement & Pencil Grasp - Review the video lessons. - INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY- Use the class Jamboard to identify correct line placement. -Identify floating letter errors on the Weekly Fact Sheet. BONUS: Copy at least one sentence fixing all errors. -ASSIGNMENT- Learners will go to the classroom where they will unscramble the listed words. You will print the Animal Word Scramble Worksheet focusing on line placement. Upload the worksheet for me to see. Week 2: Letter Size & Paper position -Review video lessons. -INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY - Use Google Slides to sort letters of the alphabet based on size. -Identify floating letters and letter size errors on the Weekly Fact sheet. BONUS: Copy at least one sentence fixing all errors. - ASSIGNMENT- Students will complete the Secret Code Worksheet focusing on letter size and upload it for me to see. Week 3: Spacing & Posture - Review video lessons. - INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY- Drag and drop words in our class Google Slides to create a sentence placing noodles and meatballs between the words. - Identify spacing errors on the Weekly Fact Sheet. BONUS: Copy at least one sentence fixing all errors. - Students will complete the Animal Silly Story Page 1. Once completed you will copy your answers into your Animal Silly Story Page 2. Week 4: Review & Additional Ideas to Continue Practicing -Review video lessons. -INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY- Upload a video of yourself explaining the 3 Rules of Writing. - Identify all writing errors on the Weekly Fact Sheet BONUS: Copy at least one sentence fixing all errors. - Students will go to the classroom and use the virtual dice to create silly sentences using the sheet provided. Everyone will write 4 sentences and then share them to the classroom. Upload it for me to see.

My name is Stephanie and I worked as a school-based Occupational Therapist for over 20 years, helping children ages 3–21 in public schools. Most of the students I worked with were between 4 and 8 years old and had autism, ADHD, or learning differences.
I know that handwriting can be hard for many kids. My goal is to help your child feel confident and proud of their progress. I focus on building strong connections with my students and always use kind, gentle corrections. I often teach through group demonstrations and encourage students to share their handwriting struggles. This helps them see they are not alone.
I’ve completed all of the Learning Without Tears workshops and use both the Learning Without Tears and Size Matters Handwriting Programs in my classes. I believe the best way to learn is through fun, laughter, and engaging activities. I use humor and silliness to keep learning light and enjoyable!
I’m also very flexible. If your child needs to miss an ongoing class, just send me a message during that same week—before or after—and I’ll be happy to refund you for that session.
A Note from Me
I’ve lived with a chronic illness since I was 12, and in the past few years, it has sometimes affected my energy. I do everything I can to make sure it doesn't impact my classes, but once in a while I may need to cancel. I’m sharing this with you because I believe honesty and communication are important, and I want to be open with all my families.
