Hola! Bienvenidos a Clase! Welcome to Spanish  with Profe Angie

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Welcome to Part 2 of our Spanish Beginners/Intermediate course! In this 8-week section, students will build on the foundational skills from Part 1 to develop conversational abilities in a wider range of everyday scenarios. Designed to help students grow their speaking and listening skills, this course continues to immerse students in Spanish, encouraging them to feel comfortable communicating in various contexts.

Each lesson focuses on real-life topics, such as talking about the weather, describing daily routines, and navigating a city. Through interactive role-play and engaging activities, students will gain confidence in:

Describing the weather, months, and seasons,
Talking about their daily routines and household objects,
Asking for directions and giving them,
Handling common shopping and restaurant conversations,
Discussing future plans and making simple invitations.
By the end of Part 2, students will feel comfortable using Spanish to communicate in everyday situations, setting them up for more advanced language skills in the future.

CLASS STRUCTURE:
Schedule: Our class will meet 1x per week for 8 weeks
Resources/Materials: Students will receive before every class, vocabulary that will be useful during class, practice worksheets or digital interactive practice activities, as well as additional resources (such as a you tube video). Students will also receive a list of necessary material the week prior to that class. 

CURRICULUM:
Class materials, will be provided to students prior to class. 

DIGITAL APPS USED TO REVIEW:
Quizlet will be used to provide students with vocabulary practice through digital flashcards.


WHAT TO EXPECT:
Teacher will greet all students upon arrival
We will introduce the topic of the day, and complete a quick review of previously learned material.
Students will go through the days activities, and always conclude with an informal assessment that may come in the form of an exit ticket, or game.

By the end of the course, students will be able to describe the weather, discuss different seasons, and express activities related to each season using common weather expressions in Spanish.
Master Dates and Time Expressions:

Students will learn how to state the months of the year and express full dates in Spanish, while combining these skills with weather and seasonal vocabulary. They will also use time expressions to talk about their daily
learning goal

Lesson 1:
El Tiempo y las Estaciones – Weather and Seasons
 In this lesson, students will learn how to talk about the weather and seasons in Spanish. We’ll cover common weather expressions like "Hace sol" (It’s sunny) and "Está nublado" (It’s cloudy), and students will practice asking and answering, "¿Qué tiempo hace?" We’ll also talk about the four seasons and activities associated with each one.

Lesson 2:
Los Meses del Año y Fechas – Months of the Year and Dates
 Building on the days of the week from Part 1, students will now learn how to name the months of the year and say full dates, such as "Hoy es el 5 de abril." We’ll practice combining the weather and dates (e.g., "En enero, hace frío") to help students describe different times of the year.

Lesson 3:
Mi Rutina Diaria – Daily Routines
 Now that students know how to tell time, we’ll learn how to describe daily routines using time expressions. Students will practice using verbs like despertarse (to wake up) and ir (to go), and phrases like "A las ocho, voy a la escuela" (At 8:00, I go to school). They’ll share their own daily routines and discuss typical day-to-day activities.

Lesson 4:
En Mi Casa – Rooms and Objects in the House
 In this lesson, students will learn the names of rooms in a house (e.g., "la cocina" – kitchen, "el baño" – bathroom) and common household objects. They’ll practice describing their homes: "En mi casa, hay una sala grande" (In my house, there is a big living room), and we’ll reinforce the use of tener from Part 1.
