Class Experience

In this 5-session course, students will learn how to play 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Each day, we will focus on a different aspect of the world's greatest roleplaying game so that by the end of the course, students will be ready to play the game with confidence. The course is broken up into five classes:

1. Character Creation - Students will learn how to build a character, and what sort of considerations make for a fun character. At the end of class, each student will be guided through building their own character!

2. Gameplay - Students will learn how to engage with the non-combat elements of Dungeons & Dragons. From Ability Checks to Roleplaying, students will take their characters and learn how to bring them to life. At the end of class, students will engage in gameplay that will challenge them to solve problems creatively, without resorting to combat.

3. Combat - Students will learn how to engage in combat in Dungeons & Dragons. From Surprise to Actions, students will learn how to fight back against the monsters that lurk in the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. At the end of class, students will engage in battle with fearsome foes, and must use all that they have learned to overcome their opponents!

4. Magic - Students will learn about magic, and how to use it to their advantage in Dungeons & Dragons. Students will learn not only how their spell-casting characters can use their magics, but also how to read a spell and come away with the comprehension to use it effectively.

5. Let's Play Dungeons & Dragons - With everything the students have learned, the final class will be a gameplay experience which makes use of every element that students have learned up to this point. It's time to show off what you've learned, and face a real adventure in the world of Dungeons & Dragons!

You will need to create an account for your learner on Roll20. Once your learner has enrolled in the class, we will reach out with a guide to joining Roll20 and help get their character sheet uploaded.

About Our Classes
There are currently three types of classes offered by NomaDnD

Beginner Classes - Our beginner classes are designed to take beginning players and teach them the basics needed to start playing and exploring their creativity. No prior experience with Dungeons & Dragons or any other roleplaying game is necessary to sign up and have a great time learning about the world's greatest roleplaying game!

Module Adventures - Our module classes will take players through one of Dungeons & Dragons' many adventure modules, where players will face off against myriad foes and challenges, from subterranean invaders haunting the ground below to dragons stalking the skies above.

Episodic Campaign - Our episodic campaign classes are composed of individual self-contained adventures that flow together to tell an ongoing story. What monsters and challenges will our heroes face this week? Best to give it a try and find out!
